Where Am I Going?
Chateau La Durantie is located in Lanouaille, France in the French countryside. It is a small village, with only a few restaurants and one hotel. The closest larger town is Saint-Yrieix, which has a train station with more accommodations available.
Where to Fly
Most international airports will have the best options to fly into Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). Once you arrive in Paris, there are many affordable options that will take you close to the venue
When to Fly
Festivities will begin on the evening of Monday July 12th. Most U.S. flights will depart at night and land early the next morning. We would recommend flying out a couple of days early to have time to travel to the venue and adjust to the time difference
I Made It To Paris, Now What?
From Paris, there are several options to get to the venue:
Fly
From Paris Orly (ORY) airport, there are daily flights (~1 hr flight) available (excluding Saturdays) to Limoges Airport (LIG), approximately a 45 minute drive from Saint-Yrieix ( the town where a shuttle will be provided to and from the venue)
Train
From Paris (Gare d’Austerlitz), there are numerous trains daily to Saint-Yriex Train Station, with a transfer in Limoges. This will remove the need to get a taxi or car service from the airport to Saint-Yrieix. The Train takes approximately 4 ½ hours. We recommend searching and booking train tickets through https://www.omio.com.
Car
If choosing to rent a car, the typical American car rental companies are available at most major airports as well as train stations. Driving is a little crazy in Paris, so we would not recommend renting one until you are leaving the city.
The Scenic Route
Last time we visited when we got engaged, we took the high speed train from Paris (Paris Gare Montparnasse) to Bordeaux (Bordeaux-Saint-Jean). This is about a 2 hour train ride from Paris. We then rented a car from the train station and drove to the Venue (about a 2 hour drive). The drive from Bordeaux to the venue goes through lots of French vineyards and medieval towns and is a very nice drive.
